Windshield Early 911 - Tinted or Not

Specifically for 72-73 911's. Did they come with the tinting across the top, was it gray, green, black? Was tinting an option or standard on coupes and targas. My car is 73 E targa and would like to replace my windshield with correct one.

Joe, there was a factory option for tinted glass in 72-73. It usually appears green and has a darker grandient at the top of the windscreen.

See this thread on the early 911S registry site for more on that.

If you have an early car, you should consider joining. You need not own a 911S to join. There is no better site with info for early (64-73) 911's. Other than Pelican, that is.
