Hi,

you are in for some fun. The original fuel filter is NLA so you will need to fabricate something.

Here's my story:

Thats why I love this forum. Who else would document that for the pure sake of helping others(or remembering themselves)

Thanks!

Awesome. One important trick in replacing those can-type CIS filters is to use two wrenches on each fitting, and configure the wrenches so that the force you want applied, is applied by squeezing them together. One will hold the filter, while the other turns the fitting. Again, they should be configured in a "V" shape so that you can just squeeze with one hand to pop it loose.

when replacing the filter in my 76 I went to the local auto parts, and started to check the book for all cis cars I can think of. I compared ny filter to those. I ended up with a filter out of a saab or volvo I cant remember, but it fit perfect. It had the same fittings on the ends, the only difference was it was a little longer than the old one.

Aw Schucks...

Thanks Supe. You are right about the fittings and, as best I recollect, the folks at Bosch were kind enough to make the nuts different sizes so you only need one set of wrenches to do the job.
