alternator
We are having out alternator replaced and since this car is new to us (79 911 Targa Carrera) we are not sure if the aternator is still using the regulator. does anyone know of a way to test or what to look for to see if the alternator is the old style or the newer style? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Danna

Danna,
The newer style alternator with integral regulator will only have three wire types attached ... Blue wire to Terminal #61, Brown wires to D-, Red wires to D+. Earlier type with separate regulator will have an additional Black wire to DF terminal.
