Wanted to get my order in today for some mats and need to know if all early cars, 73 especially have a notch in the drivers mat around the gas pedal.
Thanks guys, I'll post pics of the new mats for your evaluation when they arrive.

TechGuy,
My '74 mats have the notch you are referring to and they really need it to keep the mat from moving around under the gas pedal and brake.

1972 Targa Mats, $34.95 plus $19.95 S&H. They are about the same thickness as the factory mats. Who can complain for the price? I would have gladly paid a lot more from the dealer but not even available in any form. Where..hint E-Bay

TechGuy,
Those sure look nice, I'd like to get a set, especially at that price! What was the eBayer's ID? I like the Porsche logo and embroidery, pretty cool! Do they have straps to hold them in place? Mine do, but they still slide around a bit and they are completely worn out...

No straps but my old ones are held in with a button snap, I may add the same setup to these. You can add lots of options for the price.
