Where is Uncle Zak?
 

I've called Zak every day for the last week and he hasn't bothered to return my calls. Where is this self proclaimed 911 parts king? Does anyone know? Is this usual behaviour?

I need a 2.4 / 2.7 Rod 660grams...anyone?

Dont worry he will call you back. Hes a good guy but has been very busy.

I heard Zak goes on vacation now and then. Doesn't tell anyone 'till he's back. I do the same, why let everyone know there's not going to be anyone around?

I agree, but when I did get him live (last week) he said to call on Monday of this week because he didn't have a scale to weigh the rods.

I have not had good experience with him. Alot of run around, lots of promises but no return calls. I gave up.

Well Gary Fairbanks just found me a rod and was very cordial about it. Thanks Gary!! So long Zak.

I just orded a HTR backdate kit from him. He answered all my questions in a timely manner. I sent him the money on Monday, I hope he ships in a timely manner also.

Zak has been a good guy to deal with in my limited experience with him. Even on small $$ orders.

I emailed him out of the blue for a single valve cover when I got caught in one those 'I NEED IT YESTERDAY' situations about a month ago and he came through for me. Within 2 days I had the valve cover for a very fair price.

Maybe he's real busy. Shoot him a PM, he posted on For Sale earlier today.

Wow you guys are harsh ! Maybe he took the wife out for the weekend . It is valentines day tomorrow . I personally had two great experiances with him . One selling and one buying. Both were pleasent .

I've had very good dealings with him.

i use a 3 pronged attack when I really need to hear from him.

I call, send an e-mail, and send a pm on the board. I'm sure he thinks I'm a pain in the A$$, but he always gets back to me, and treats me very fair on the price.

Sometimes maybe we forget that the guy might have a life! Gotta add that that I have been treated extreamly fair by Zak!!

Howdy doody - - Unclezak here. I really think it is bad taste to 'defend' ones'self here on the forum..... Too like daytime TV / A bad Geraldo episode while everyone enjoys stirring the pot and gawking from the safe distance of their computer monitors. That said , I do apologize for slow replies , occasional unreturned phone calls , etc .... I am a one-point-two-five person operation at the moment , and I usually can't answer my phone during the day ( oily , greasy nitrile gloves don't come off too fast ) - And between trying to build an engine , boxing parts and driving to the post office , fed-ex , UPS , and the shipping dock for the big stuff , the phone ( literally ) rings every 5 minutes. THEN there is all the email ..... NOT to say I am 'right' , it is not a good business practice to ignore a customer - I am sorry , there just is not time enough for me to call back everyone to say ' I do not know yet ...' ( Tristan : told you I would let you know when I bought a scale. Scale hasn't shown up yet , didn't have time to go scale shopping in the last 3 days . SINCERE APOLOGIES ALL AROUND ) - - - I AM sorry for the slow communication - I am working on fixing this ( secretary? mechanic ? medication? ) - And by the way : I do NOT have a social life. My girlfriend hates me , and all of you. If I'm awake , I can be found at my shop , driving somewhere up and down the I5 corridor to buy/deliver/fix/ or install an engine , or feverishly type emails too fast to spellcheck. I try , dammit. I try my bestest.

MY PROMISE to you Pelicanites ( and others out there ) - I will try VERY HARD to get back to you ASAP from now on...... Just please forgive me if I do not have the time to chat you up..... Ownership. I love it.

When I get my next ride, and I need some used or particular part, I know who I am calling. Well, I need to add that I will be getting stuff from our host Wayne, et al.

Hang in there Zak. It will pay off as time goes.
