The top hose that runs from the oil filler neck around the back of the engine to the engine is getting small cracks by the oil filler neck. It looks like its from the slight bend in it and age. Anybody Know the name of this hose? And small explaination of what it does would help. thanks

It's the main vent hose. It vents crankcase vapors. Remove the hose and check whether cracks have penetrated to the inside of hose. I checked my car last year and found cracks to be only on the surface.

I believe the hoses provide supplemental air during warm-up. Look under "Oil Tank & Engine Breather Hoses."
