Spellcheck ?
Why is there not a spellcheck when posting? Or, am I missing something?
|
You're missing something.
John |
We had one a long time ago. But it constantly locked up.
I don't think we have enough nerds ( LOL ) around here to find one that would work. PLus, Wayne may have had a fee or something with the other one. Don't remember the name of it. |
How about just spelling correctly, and not worrying about it?
|
Bad spelling is one way to find illegal immigrants. Or else, someone missed out on that third grade diploma. Poorsha? Fuchen wheels? Never mind, we know what it is.

I have never posted a reply to a message, but now I feel the need too. I get valuable information on 911 topics, but I can see after reading this why some people may feel intimidated by some of the uppity users of this board. It is certainly too bad people may be bad mouthed for poor spelling......gee I guess not everyone needs a degree to own a Porsche!

touchy, touchy ruby
relax, sometimes, porsche owners have a sense of humor |
911ruby has a point. Doing it right is more important than spelling it right.
|
Geez, yes, I do have a sense of humor that runs amok on Sunday mornings!
I wasn't poking fun at anyone in particular, more at the quality of the educational system in this country. You know, the one that allows this to happen. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/off-topic-discussions/148076-high-school-diploma-worthless.html People do judge you by the way you talk, write, spell, act. It's a fact of life. Trust me, I am in NO position to judge anyone. But it happens; I wish I had paid more attention to the nuns that taught me to spell and think. I was too busy avoiding the rulers across the knuckles. Sorry if I offended anyone. edited for spelling...... And welcome to the board 911Ruby. Congrats on your first post. |
The funny thing about this board, as opposed to say, the Honda Civic board, is that people are often both well-educated and polite -- a bizarre mix. I see senior members posting things that show they remember what it was like to be in my shoes -- some nubly little kid who's jumped into German engineering way over his head. Many posters are literate, if not literary, and most posts are fairly well thought out. The important thing to note, however, is the board's response to a poster who doesn't take the time or have the education to write a doctoral dissertation on their problem. Rather than responding with stereotypical Porsche arrogance and rejection, I've seen more welcoming, friendly, and helpful replies to such posts than I can shake a 24mm wrench at. Heck, even when people are rude (people = me), most people respond with forbearance and long-suffering. Cool. :)

You will be judged anywhere you go for blatent spelling mistakes. If you feel intimidated about your ability to spell, then write your message in Word, spellcheck it, then paste it in.

Now if we can just be civil when someone brings up DME chips.
|
What's a DME chip?
Oh, wait, I have one in the 'other' car....... |
