cv joints/axles?
ok, flipping through the pelican parts catalog. for my '75, there are two possible choices for complete axles. i climbed under the car, and "yup, there are the axles." what is the easiest way to determine which to order? must have been a new hiring trend during that time near 1975. all the transitions in design on my car...
gracias, cliff

Cliff,
'72 thru early '75 CV-joints use 4 ea M10 x 48 mm Allen bolts ... late '75 thru '89 CV-joints use 6 ea M8 Allen bolts ...

Cliff,
Are there six of them? If so, then you have the later CV-joints. Assuming there hasn't been any swapping of parts by a previous owner, of course. Best to count the number of bolts at each CV. It can get a bit confusing looking at Allen bolts, because the M10 bolts -- major thread diameter ... use a 8 mm hex drive bit, and the M8 bolts use a 6 mm hex drive bit.

thanks for clearing that up warren. i almost messed up. i am still trying to wrap my brain around all this metric system nomeclature. i guess i have the older system. only 4 bolts. so a M10 is the 10mm in diameter at the threads. i guess i have been mentally lazy and not given it much thought.
