Need to modify my seat rail mounts-advice?

I put a set of Recaro Speeds in on stock sliders. All bolted right up, but I think I lost an inch or two of legroom. The way my sliders bolt to the car, there are three sets of holes at the rear, and one set at the front of the mounts. When bolted up, I use the forward most set of rear holes. If I could use the back set of holes, I'd probably gain 2" of leg room. The way I see it, I'd only need to drill two corresponding holes toward the front.

Does this make sense? Does anyone see any problem in doing this?

I had to drill mine for my Sparcos. It's really not that agonizing once you make the first hole :)

Had to drill my Sparco sliders too. Bolt them up using the back set of holes and then reach up and underneath and using a centre-punch through the bolt hole you can scribe where exactly on the sliders you need to drill.

mourceau de gateau as they say in France.

Ed, were you running the seat all the way back to begin with (ie with the stock seat)? I just ordered a Speed and was going to use the existing mount, but I don't run mine slid all the way back so maybe it won't be an issue...

Ed, Seems like the stock sliders use the mounting bolts as fore and aft stops. Check to see if that's true, and if so, will it will cause any premature seat stopage.

During the super bowl there sure were a lot of commercials for drugs to prevent that...

I did run my seats all of the way back, I'd guess these are about equal to the second or third to last notch in the stock seat setup. If I drill two more holes in the beds, the whole assembly will still have all mounting bolts in the same "spatial relationship"-I think?

(need to lay off the LSD in the morning)
