Porsche Crest The Fitti-Porsche

While I'm waiting for the oil to drain from my 911 I was searching the web to kill the time. I came across this site about the Fitti-Porsche. I was able to wade through it using a translator and it makes an interesting footnote to Porsche's racing history -- abiet a non-factory footnote.

I'm pretty sure that some of the pictures were posted here in the past, but here it appears is the complete story.

Enjoy!

Since I wasn't able to link to the transated version, here's the text...

The Fitti-porsche and the BINO Mk-i and Mk-ii

for Anisio Fields

In 1967, pilot Marivaldo Fernandes searched to carry through a dream. To
make an car of races, using to advantage the chance offered for the
category Sport Archetype.

It wanted something that had soul, something that it could domar and
show its aptitudes in this alucinante sport. I remember?Filé "arriving
in my house with this wonderful notice.

- How it is AC, we go to make an archetype? I finish to buy the tubular
chassis of the Porsche that the Bino (Christian Heins) ran (Spyder 550
RS), that one played back in the house of Its Chico (Landi)? What you
find of it, with a stronger engine, of the Porsches for example more
modern?

-?Olha Marivaldo... leaves I to cool a little the head because I am
dreaming excessively... seeing?formas? imperdíveis... cadê... plane table?

The project demanded a longer chassis thus and, was taken for the
workshop of the Gino Bortolleto, in the Bladder, passing for
a?engenheiro surgery h.c. (honoris cause)? .

As motoring he was still uncertain in the way to take, suddenly the
Marivaldo changed for something of result faster e the dream passed to
the Fittipaldi, without a doubt more determined to that type of
esporte/negócio/objetivo.

Wilsinho "Tigrão" and Emerson "Rat" in 1965

The Fittipaldi clan was complete. Artists as Chico Piscciuto (aluminum
and hammer), Nelson Brizzi (of the two engines), Ricardo Divila (of the
Copersucar F1 and today Nissan International Racing), Jan Balder (the
Pope-omelette, great?coringa).

They had taken the car for its workshop and had called the "Pixuto",
that he worked very well in aluminum. The Emerson drew the car in the
wall and the Pixuto accepted the challenge. They had used to advantage
the parts front and back of the chassis and had all made the remaining
portion in the nail...

Later, the back cover of the engine was plated in fibre glass. They had
been felt inspired in Porsche 906, they had mounted the mechanics of the
Karman-Ghia Porsche of the Dacon, or either, the engine and exchange of
"Carrera 2" of double command, 2.000cc and 170hp.

Wilsinho starts the first tests and Emerson finishes with the best time!

In the first version, the Fitti-Porsche did not have cowling. Later, the
Pixuto constructed it, well thus the doors that opened for top. The
results aesthetic and functional had been excellent.

Wilson Fittipaldi in the "THIS" of the Automobile race track of
Jacarepaguá in the 500 km of Guanabara - 1967

Already in the 1,000 Miles of 67, the pair (Wilson/Emerson) led the race
until suffering one pane in breathes it of the gasoline tank, of which
resulted a fire beginning, that cost them the abandonment of the test.
Later, they had gained two races in Rio De Janeiro and had abandoned one
third, locking up there the first part of the history of the car, that
was vendido for the School of Bardhal Pilotage.

The Fitti-Porsche running in Rio De Janeiro, after mechanical problems,
pushed for Emerson Fittipaldi

(Dacon) and the espôsa of Wilson Fittipaldi

E I always eat the fond friend (accompanying in the Dacon Team) and very
proud of the creation of the logomarca Formula-1 for I manufacture of
projections of the Emerson and Wilson. The Fitti-Porsche marked leading
all its participation!

The "A thousand Miles" "Luizes" was won by the two: Pear tree Bueno and
Terra Schmith, with the rebaptized Alpine of Mark I.

The?Bino name? it gave a homage to pilot Christian "Bino" Heins, invited
for Jean Redelé (that it brought for Brazil the line of the Alpine,

cars Renault Alpine-prototype, in the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1962.

Infortunadamente, Bino that was Manager of the?Departamento of
Competitions? of the plant Willys Overland of Brazil, installed under
the program IT FROSTS of the Government Juscelino Kubitschek, was become
victim of accident fatally in this race.

The Bino Mk-ii in action in the opposing straight line of River - 1968
with Lian Duarte in the commands.

The Bino archetype without a doubt, is the car of race of bigger
prominence in the history of Brazilian motoring. Constructed artisan in
the Department of Competitions of the Willys, commanded for Luiz Antonio
Greco, the primoroso craftsman and master Toni Bianco - my friend and
friend ex-officio - that simply carried through a work of art. Not only
therefore, still he was capable to modify the distancia between axles of
archetype I , 2.10m for 2.25m of finally the Bino Mark II .

Lian Duarte, the Moco, Bird Clemente and Luizinho Bueno Pear tree in the
projection of the Bino, old boxes of the 500 km of the Guanabara -

Bino I said me the Toni that was?inguiável, e to the complete?fazedor?
of race cars we must the resulted greaters gotten for the stroke of a
bell has equipped of 60 years call tambem, in accordance with the
announcements?Estes Wonderful Men with its You scheme Winning. It used
engine 1,300 cc of 4 Renault/Corcel cylinders with transmission of 4
marches and would carroceria of polyester resin strengthened with fibre
glass.

Luiz Bueno Pear tree and the Bino Mark II.

The team below shone under the command of Luis Grecco... aquí, seated in
the hood to the side of the Fittipaldi brothers in 1966.

E where was to stop the Fitti-Porsche?

for Sergio Magalhães

A new archetype appears

I and the Maurício Paes de Barros find the Fitti-Porsche with engine VW,
painted of chess, yellow and black color, serving of guineapig for the
beginning ones in the School of Pilotage, Bardahl.

A new phase

It did not need much time to convince the owner, Peter Delamare, in them
to vender the car and we take it, happy, for the workshops of the
Bumacar, where we remodel it entirely and we paint it of white and
orange. Later, when they run s for the Souza Branches, it was white,
blue and orange.

We place the best mechanics to the reach of our pocket, a VW air - 1,800
chemical preparation.

The car came back garbosamente toward the tracks. The Maurício made as
in a "Festival of Speed", in Interlagos; I placed the car in third, in
"grid", the 12 hours of rain Brasilia, underneath, disputing with the
Lian Duarte and the Jaime Hisses mounted in the "Bino" and the "Fury",
two cars of tip of the time and that they were considered imbatíveis.

In that test, the brake finished and abandons. In the 12 hours of
Interlagos; of 1970, I released between the five first ones and the car
well was placed, was not one "pane dries", when we lose some positions.
As they did not have enough rain tires, the head of the team decided to
place radial in the front, leaving of corrida/chuva in the back. It was
a chaos. The Car was inguiável and left front "a barbarity", until, in
the curve of the Sergeant, when trying to follow the Clement Bird, beat
fort in the guard-rail and finished with our hopes.

Losing the contact

Without resources (at the time it was all amadorístico), we finish
taking off the mechanics and mounting in a Cougar, vendendo what it
sobrou of the Fitti-Porsche for a pilot of Ribeirão Preto.

Never more we saw it, nor we knew of it. Day of these, the Wilsinho
counted to me that it tried to recoup the car, it investigated how much
could and finished in Brasilia, where the comrade that had seen the car
for the last time informed it that she loses its track. Perhaps it had
IDO to stop in a scrap iron deposit, as it was the Carcará, recordista
of speed... Is sad, for us, that in Brazil we have so short memory, to
evidence that all these parts of unequivocal importance for national
motoring had finished if losing in the time and the space...
