Porsche 911 and Inheritance
WARNING: HIGH GEEK CONTENT FOLLOWS:
I was looking into a conversion of some ancient Turbo Pascal code into something more modern, and I found this. You programming geeks might find this fun. Note "For example, a Porsche Carrera inherits most attributes from the base model 911, but it also sports a whale tail". See next post for the copy. |

Wow, I wonder how they got away with that without the Porsche Police making them recall all of the packaging or something. I don't see anything about trademarks or anything.

Doesn't Adrian Cockcroft's Solaris Performance Tuning book have a red 911 on the cover......
|
You're absolutely right, that's some serious geek content. I had hoped, on reading the subject line, that you had inherited a Porsche -- how disappointing! Funny thing is that the number of people who understand both Porsches and object-oriented inheritance (and polymorphism (shudder)) are few and far between.

Cool!! (But then again I'm a computer security geek)

Tjanks for the memories!
I think I still have the box and manuals somewhere around here |

And Suns "Solaris Internals" book has a Lotus V8 engine on the cover, and a picture of the authors Lotus on the back with the license plate "SUNOS". They actually got permission from Lotus to use the pics..and the author still owns that Lotus pictured in the back. |
