Seattle area drive routes?
I'm looking for good driving routes in this part of the world -- I live in Silverdale (which is sort of near Bainbridge Island), and I'm looking for someplace to do DASO (Demonstration And Shakedown Operations, for you non-military types). So far I've found the Gorst/Belfair run to be worthwhile, and I'm thinking a trip out towards Cape Flattery would be a good Saturday. Somebody suggested driving down to Mt. Rainier, but that's quite a trip for some "squiggly lines." Can any Northwest types recommend a good drive or two? Something with a lot of curvies, a decent view to keep a passenger entertained...
TIA, Dan

If you decide on the Rainer drive here are some details.
http://www.911t.org/drives/drives.htm Also if you do find a "Great Drive" send me a PM with the details. I'm trying to add additional drives to the "T" site.

Mike -- thanks for the info.
Any other Northwest Pelicans ever do any good drives? Find any decent windies, anywhere? I mean, this ain't Georgia, it seems like we ought to have some great stuff, I just don't know where it is!

Fall City/ Duval/ Monroe isn't bad off traffic. (202/203) Better yet the connecting roads between there and 405 can be exceptional. Old Farm Rd and a number of connections off the Redmond Fall City Rd to Duvall Carnation (High Bridge rd/Tolt Hill Rd/ Cherry Valley) have a few short runs worth a visit. The back road on the river around Monroe to Highway 2 is also worth a look (Ben Howard Rd).
Off Highway 18 to the Green River Gorge and Palmer Junction is one of my favorites this time of year. All of these are short (worth a few hours at most, breakfast and lunch) and not much of a view unless the weatehr is exceptional. But you cna add in enough roads to make it a long day if you have some good maps. The best drives in the state are snowed in at the moment, like Rainier and St Helens. A decent weather day makes most of the Olympic's loop a good drive. This can be an all day affair or a couple of days. We do a run from Issaquah across the ferry and out ot Ocean shores one day and back the next via the back roads (long) for 1/5 when patince wears thin on a weekend. The run from I5 to Cougar is EXCEPTIONAL with connections either way out when the snow is gone. No idea what it is like this time of year but it is also worth a look.
