Hi Guys,
It's been a busy summer here at the Shuswap; all is well except for these blasted forest fires all around us..... still going but I believe the end is in site. No rain here for over 75 days now. Anyway, the August long weekend my wife and I were out for a drive with the top down and stumbled across a lakefront property for sale privately, they were having an open house. We walked in and two days later had an accepted offer. We took the keys yesterday and plan to move in over the next month (or so). The home is an estate home with a long 500ft tree-lined driveway opening up to a courtyard styled entry on 2 acres of property. There are 6 stables (3 double deep bays) including an attached private stable for my car. The home has been vacant for 2 years; the vendor has been trying to sell privately, and we negotiated a very good deal on what will become our dream home (current year that is). The house is huge and has everything we want, walk-out basement to a swimming pool and large decks, fountains, gazebo and ponds. 150 ft of sandy beach, concrete boat launch, docks and buoy. All kinds of out buildings, tractor, rid'em lawn mower, etc. So now we're selling our home and cabin and planning to live at this new place. It's located right in Sorrento and has a view of Copper Island (named after Sorrento Italy which has a view of the Isl. of Capri). It's been vacant for 2 years and requires some work... so it'll be about a month or so before we move in. Kids will go to the same school and life will be a beach. A couple of pics....... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

oh, we can get the same thing right here in LA. Only $15million or so...
I don't want to know what you paid. I'll only cry. Then whimper. Then cry some more. Latest housing numbers came out. Our zip code went up 19% since last year. Average price per sq ft is $540. How much does it snow up there? |

Thanks guys for your great comments! But "semi-retired"? I'm 43 yrs old and only tired not retired..... I've got alot of work to do for this place, 5 kids a dog, a Porsche and a wife to support. I'll be one of those guys who works until he drops, but hey I'm not complaining either.... never did like the lawn chair approach to life?
Bell, believe it or not the PO didn't have any windows in the garage facing the lake? I'll be adding them that's for sure. The attached garage is double deep with a partioned off shop and great stable for me car ![]() Davis911 and all others, you're always welcome at my place! Drop us a line if you're going to be in the area and we'll make some time; I'd be insulted if you didn't? Lots of room for RVs and Tents too. Thanks again, back to work .......

Hey Guys! It sounds like Rob could use some (im)moral support to get his new house ready. What do you say we ALL drop in over the next couple of months?

So what you're saying, Rob, is that the RainForest Round-up '04 ought to have a stop-over party at your new digs, eh?

I'd have no problem hosting a round-up stop over, BBQ, fire, swimming pool and lake all here for the taking! BYOBB (bring your own booze and beef) of course.
Actually if you contact Dwayne, Prez of BC Interior PCA, he lives 2 hours South in Kelowna and also knows some great guys who've got some gorgeous spots for get togethers. Nonetheless, I'd have no problem with hosting some PHeads; but it's pretty quite spot. I've got a place we can line up about 25 cars for a great lake backdropped photo too. Say no more....
