Sports Car Revolution on Speed

Anyone see Sports Car revolution last night? The E-ram guy was on it with his 928.

Actually a kinda decent show tied to the SCCA.

They are going to try and turn brand new C4S into a daily driver in Canada it looked like.

I saw that show. It took me a few minutes to remember where I knew that name from. About his car... while not a large piece of Porsche lore, I wish he hadn't torn apart that speed record 928S, just to race in that speed channel sponsored series.

If you saw the car when I got it, you wouldnt have said what you did!! If you go to the 928 track cars site, you can see the transformation. It seemed suited that the 928 that broke the WR and was driven by the late Al Holbert would rise again to see some action in the sport of racing. Now, its been touched by two 4 time Lemans winners. Driven by Al Holbert and Hit by Derrek Bell! two full race seasons, driven to the track, even the Pro events and not a bolt has been turned on the drivetrain/engine since it came off the production line in 1

Got to hand it to porsche.

All for now.

Mark,

I agree with you that it's nice to see the car running again. I'm sure Dr. Porsche would rather see his cars racing and competing rather than gathering dust in some private museum. On the other hand I think that cars which served Porsche in documented racing and record attempts should be preserved as is. I would think that are lots of cheap 928S’s laying around with no such historical significance. That said I know I am more purist then most. Good luck with the upcoming season Mark.

I kind of agree as well. However, no one came up with an equal car to trade me, so I really had no choice. I felt pretty good about the way it cleaned up, compared to how I found it. It was worth nothing in the shape it was in. The nice thing about it, was a lot of the gutting was done already from its days as an IMSA rescue recovery vehicle/pace car. ( I did bring the car to the original red color by the way. ) Im surprised the drive train has lasted this long with no issues (knock on wood)

Maybe, someone will see the significance of the car and trade me a Cup car for it!!!! Ha ha
