Any "Leaf Green" cars out there?

I recently came to own a 1969 T in an unusual color.

It is called Leaf Green. The code is: 6830.

I've never seen one before but there must be others out there. If so, I'd love to see a picture.

Thanks,

Jess

Steve,

I knew that was coming! I had hoped it wouldn't be the first response I'd get (I been around long enough to know better).

This is just the sort of encouragement I need to find the wire for my digital camera. It's been missing since my recent move.

My bad,

Jess

HAHAHA, Awesome, I can't wait! I love the old colors, think I'll have to get an early car one of these days.

Wow! That's definitely a first for me. I've never seen that one! Somewhere between Viper and Irish. Very nice!

Great looking car! That picture will be an inspiration for me to finish mine up.

My car was a true "found in a barn" story. I'm rebuilding the motor that was disassembled in 1976 when the car was taken off the road.

Jess--

Congrats on your find. I need to move somewhere close to those barns hiding old Porsches.

Since there are now two of us, is it time to start the National 1969 911 Leaf Green Registry?

What the heck are you buying more cars for? Did you get rid of the 993?

At this point I will sell you mine at a discount......

I think we do need to start the leaf green registry. I can see it now, you and me and a sixpack of beer. Kind of the registry equivelant of the scene in Blazing Saddles where the black family circles the wagon.

I don't know if you want to move closer to the Porsche barns. Even though I found a special car, in that it is rust-free and truely in time capsule condition it still takes a lot of time and money to get these cars back rolling after so many years.

Jeff (Slider79)

I don't know why I bought this one other than it was just too good to pass up and the price was very attractive. No I didn't sell the 993 (yet). Laura is encouraging me to keep it. She promises she will drive it more this summer.

Which car are you wanting to sell?

The gold car.......

I think I am just frustrated at this point. The trans is acting up and the new motor broke today. I think it might be a rocker arm or ????

I should find out more tomorrow. Either way, I think we are going to sit out this year and concentrate on other things.

See you soon,

Jeff

Jeff,

I heard there was quite a crowd at the track today. Were you up there?

While I've always (twice) hoped it was just a rocker arm, I have never been that lucky. I think that if you think it's bent valves, you already know the answer. I just don't think SC's break rockers.

Do want to buy my race car after the Vegas race? Many podiums, probably the winningest F stock car this side of the Mississippi. I really don't need three of these air-cooled f-ers.

Jess,

I don't think it is bent valves seeing that I wasn't driving the car hard. I was just coming back from lunch and when I pulled into the parking garage all of the sudden all hell broke loose.

It sure sounds like daves motor when he broke a rocker arm. If it is a rocker arm then I will probably replace all of them just to be safe.

What would you race if you sold your car????

Jeff

Sherman,

I think it was a special order color as opposed to a "paint to sample" color. In other words, it was offered by the factory but not ordinarily stocked.
