Tow Hooks/Loops, etc...

I have seen people post photos of their track cars. These cars often have a hook or loop in the front or back. What is that for? Why can't you just winch it on to a trailer like a "normal" non-track car?

Also, why do they have arrows pointing to them? What does that signify?

Muchas Gracias!

The hooks are required by many race groups. When you break down on the track, the truck that's sent out to pull you in (or get you out of the way of oncoming traffic) needs a quick and easy way to do it. The big red arrow points out the hook location, so there's no confusion (and no one's bodywork gets pulled off).

yep, if you break down on the track, the truck WILL get you off the track, how much they break along the way is up to how well you prepared, a tow hook is a great way to prepare and prevent damage
