how much camber change....?
Guys:
From this post I have some idea how much the top shock has to move to gain/lose a certain amount of camber: Front strut angle New question.... let's say the right front tire ( 205/55-16) consistently is wearing out the inner 1" to 1.5" of tread...and that 98% of your driving is street ( not track) driving. What would be a good camber "correction" amount..in an effort to gain more even wear??? ---Wil Ferch PS--or is it obvious by simply doing the trig from the original post?

You should have your car aligned and corner balanced.
Too much toe in can also wear the inside of your tire and too much weight on one wheel would make the tire wear out ealier. You could try a quick check with carpenters spirit level to see if there's the same camber on both sides. Good luck.

For a purely camber related idea, I would split the difference from your current setting w/ factory spec. If you are at –1.5, and Factory spec is 0, try -.75 and see how it feels and how the tires wear.

I dunno. But, if the right inner is wearing and not the left, and both fronts are relatively equal (camber-wise), I would make sure the front toe is set correctly. FWIW, I've always run -1 to -1.2 up front and never had any wear issues in the past (with accurate allignment and CB of course).

For everyone's information.....front toe is "0", or slightly toe'd in. Checked personally by my home string-bar method (in archives). I also have individual corner weights and they're within spec. Basically...all is OK except RF inside tire wear. My home-made camber tool also indicates more negative camber for RF than LF...I can't recall the particular numbers but this might be the simple answer- duplicate whatever LF reading I'm getting !!! ( duh!)....nevermind, this might be the simple first setting to try.
Thanks for helping me talk this out. ![]() ---Wil Ferch PS--odd thing is the black tar hard goo on the top shocks were seemingly never disturbed. Hope I don't have a bent RF strut or spindle coming loose ( bad weld?) !
