How much should I pay?

In evaluating my options for my 74 targa that has a bad engine, one of them is to just buy another 2.7L in good shape to swap it out. Question is, how much should I expect to pay for a 2.7 in good running condition?

Also, what about buying another case that already has timecerts done and is in good shape (should I decide to rebuild). How much should I expect that to set me back?

I agree. with Groesbeck.

But a recent price I saw for a used 2.7 from Randy Webb( a fellow board member) I believe was around $3500.
