Danske Exhaust

I just put a stainless Danske 1 in/1 out muffler on my 87 911. I was expecting the sound to be a bit more aggressive than it is. There is not a whole lot of defference between the Danske and the stock exhaust. I have been told that the sound gets louder with time. Does anyone have experience with this? How much time or how many miles. My next option is to have the shop open it up and remove a baffle or two.

If you're gonna do that, why not return it and hack up your stock muffler?

Apparently the 2 out is louder. Do a search, there's tons of info out there.

Did you put a sport muffler on? If not, then you just replaced your stock muffler with, basically, a stock muffler. Dansk made the OEM mufflers for Porsche.

I put the Dansk sport muffler on my 84 because I wanted to keep the stock look. It's a bit throatier, but not what I expected or wanted.

If you want more info, do a search for "Danskman" here on the board. Either he works directly for Dansk, or reps for the company.

Yeah, Scott. This was the sport muffler with the 84mm tip.

I had the same reaction...a bit more rumble, but not what I expected. It seemed to get better over time, but I still wish it had more growl.

Same experience here, took a few hundred miles to get a little throatier. Addition of euro premuffler brought it up another level. I like the combination - could be a little louder but not too much more for me.

I have about 6oo miles on my Dansk 1 in 1 out. 84 mm. I guess it might have gotten a little louder can't really tell. Yet if I am next to another 911 with a stock set up then Yes, mine has a deeper and slightly louder tone and sound.

Six weeks ago I replaced the stock muffler on my '82SC with a Dansk 1-in, 1-out, painted steel sport muffler. Several months prior I replaced the cat with a straight "test pipe". The Dansk+test pipe is MUCH louder than the stock muffler+test pipe.
I love the new sound. Several Porsche owners at a recent drive provided unsolicited positive comments as well. One guy said "What muffler is that. Your car screams"
I'll try and post a sound file at some point.

I have a 2 in 1 out Dansk sport muffler (Now for Sale!). The combination with the SSI's sound good, maybe slightly louder then stock, but not much. I've been slightly dissapointed. Prior to that I had a bypass and a Borla 1 in, 1 out. That sounded much more like a screaming F1 car at full rpm. I really liked it. I recently found a 2 in, 4 out Borla that a local Porsche guy bought just prior to the production stopage that Borla did on 911's. It's a shame because they do make a good product. Anyway, This thing is going on in a few months and my concern now is that it is going to be too loud. It looks loud sitting on my bench! But can a 911 ever be too loud

I put the single in dual out 84mm. Changed a bit. Good idle rumble. A little light at throttle. Added a Fabspeed Pre-muff...made a HUGE difference at all throttle positions. It seems to be getting better with time. STILL not quite loud enough for me. Does set off some car alarms though!

fabspeed, 2 in, 2 out, cat bypass, cut down airbox, chip. get into it and it sounds like thunder, cruising at 2500-3000 rpm, quiet yet there. sound clips this weekend.
