Brake Pad Replacement

I plan to replace the rear brake pads on my 87 Carrera. Which pad would you suggest for a daily driver. I would like to minimize the brake dust. Is it necessary to replace the retainers and springs. Thanks.

Replacing retaining hardware is advised but, IMHO, not required providing it's sound and usable.
