Leafing through my old Christophorus, in issue #211 of April 1988, pg. 21, the venerable Dr. states "The boxer engine is too expensive and too heavy with water cooling. It is no longer suitable for rear mounting."

Perhaps he meant, at the time, for production cars.
I think the Porsche folk were using water cooled heads in racing motors at the time Dr. Porsche would have made such a statement. If I am wrong, I stand corrected! ![]() BR, Kurt |

The Doktor was just an old dinosaur, well past his "best before" date.

Didn't the good Dokter also say something about his company being a sportscar manufacturer? And that the last car on earth would be a sportscar?
Ok what is a sportscar? I don't know. I don't have a satisfactory pat answer. I do know what it's not for me. It's not a SUV nor is it the mooted 4 door saloon BMW M5 basher.
