New oil line needed with Bursch headers?
Title pretty much says it all. Do I need to change my oil line if I install Bursch headers on my car? I know you have to switch oil lines if you use SSI's that is why I am asking.
Thanks in advance Ryan |
I believe you may have to as the Bursch headers are almost identical to the SSI without the skin covering them for heat. I found that the Bursch headers I had were only about 1/16" larger in inner diameter than the SSI, so I figured it really wasn't worht any possible performance gain by removing the SSI and having no heat. Sorry to digress, but I am not sure where the clearance problems are with the stock oil lines and SSI's, but I think it is in the front where the outlet pipe after the collector connects to the muffler on the passenger side. You may be able to custom make a short connector pipe that clears the stock oil line and gets to the muffler you are using. Post some pictures and I can look into it further.

Thanks
I don't have the headers yet but I was trying to make sure I had all the parts to get them on. I still have the factory heat exchangers and catylitic converter on my car. I figured the Bursch was a cheap alternative to SSI's. Even though I think the SSI are awfully pretty, they just don't fit into my budget.
I'll post pics as soon as I get them on. Ryan |
