Heads up on new Speed channel Programming

They have a few new shows for 2004. Seem to be targeted at Gen X crowd. But I'll set my TiVo for this one.

"Behind the Headlights"
Each episode of "Behind the Headlights" will acquaint its viewers with a very special car, its history and the marque's history. As well as the music, fashion, political climate, and major events surrounding its immediate span of influence. Each episode will feature special automobiles with histories so rich their stories beg telling. These stories are so rich that the cars involved have made history, changed history, and impacted the moods, preferences and attitudes of generations.

The Automobile is the broad cloth and studied fabric in twelve one hour episodes on Speed Channel for 2004. Ranging from Pre World War Two exotics through the dominant Ford juggernaut that won the LeMans 24 Hour in France, we will acquaint viewers with a dozen fast machines and interlace a mosaic of mood, music, political climate and fashions of a by-gone era. These stories, so rich in the telling, will be revelations of our ever-changing motoring history. They are a powerful set of narratives, that beg to be told. Speed Channel has carefully chosen rare and extraordinarily valuable cars are attached to unforgettable characters with whom they will be forever linked.

Debuts Wednesday, March 3 at 8pm ET

Episode 1 - James Dean's Dark Destiny in a sleek Porsche Spyder. Our story is much more than a look at this Hollywood icon...and goes beyond the mechanical wizardry of Dean's full-race 1955 Model 550. Both Dean and the car were real mold breakers. They became the instant flag bearers for a generation that found pleasure in dangerous competitions.

Wow, can someone tape the James Dean 550 episode?? I haven't had speed for a while.

No speed network? If I didn't have speed, I wouldn't even need to turn on the TV.

Its nice to see new shows on SPEED. I was getting tired of always seeing the same shows repeated over and over again.
If it wasn't for SPEED I wouldn't bother with cable.
Helps me get through the long cold winters in Canada.

Speaking of Canada, have you noticed that many of the new shows on Speed are filmed in Ontario?

I sure did notice. It's also 'abooot' time they got some new shows, hehe.

I didn't miss Speed too much since when I canceled my digital cable they had changed to Nascar 12 hours a day during the week which was when I had the most opportunity to watch. I don't have anything against Nascar like some people, but it's not a great interest to me, so I had pretty much quit watching Speed anyway.

Sounds interesting. I have marked the 550 episode on my calendar. Thanks for the heads up. Such notices are very helpful, so I don't miss anything cool.

I don't watch as much Speed today as I used to before the Nascar coverage, but it seems like they've backed off on it a bit lately, replacing it with programming aimed at a younger crowd. That and the bobsledding coverage.

Yes, What's up with the Bob Sledding anyway?

Of course they tape in Ontaio.
we are the center of the universe:D
