I like this one too. Any thought on value of 74 Carrera. Love the color scheme.

THey both look to be very clean but I belive the second to have the wrong mirrors. Can't see anything really wrong with either.

Regarding the 1st one, "According to previous owner the motor is a rebuilt Euro spec2.7 with all upgrades to case with Dilivar studs,..." I take this to mean no records, but "trust me". The fact that the seller points outs specifically that it has fresh oil makes me wonder what maintenance has been done to keep the car in good shape. I mean, why doesn't he say that he has extensive records to share with the prospective buyer? Also, how many times has the odometer rolled over (i.e., x87,000 miles)? Don't know much about that aftermarket ignition, but the wires look like they could've been routed better.
The 2nd car is not a 911S, just a plain jane 911, with a 911S logo, rear flares, a nasty looking underdash AC unit, and ??? seats. Weatherstipping around the doors is bad. Same comment about the mileage...how many times has it rolled over? Couldn't quite make out whether it had pressure fed tensioners on the engine. The fan looks scarey ugly, someone with no clue and a paint can. Both are priced too high...just my opinion.

The first one listed was sold on ebay a few months back. It is also listed on rennlist for $17,900, which seems really high to me?

I am kind of leaning toward the third car or the 74 Carrera. Is that not rarer or more desireable than the 74S. I am at work and without Porsche literature, but thinking about calling the guy on the blue car. Has my ducktail and Carrera sticker that I have been wanting.

The Carrera is a US Carrera, 528 coupes made (according to the Red Book), 175HP, same as the 74 911S. The front seat upholstery looks kind of funky, but good condition. Ducktail fit looking from the left rear direction seems out of whack. Original paint, if true, is a plus. No mention of maintenence history records. I can't imagine the price going up too much more on this car, but I'm absolutely not a valuation expert. I like the color.

No,
The shop that did the PPI, gave me some wrong information the first time, and by the time they cleared it up, the car was gone. I am going to look at a 84 Carrera, that I would make look like the one I was buying. The plus on the carrera it has the black interior. Michael

This is the car, imagine it lowered, duck tail, and polished wheels

The paint on the car that we were both looking at was incredable, we missed out on a great car.

If the PPI on the first one came up clean, I'd go with that one. I'm sure it will end my cheaper than the blue one. Don't worry about the fit of the duck, that can be adjusted with washers (spacers). It takes a while, but who cares. I don't care for the second red one. Something seems odd about the vailence on the drivers' side. Looks to me like it makes a 90 degree bend instead of a nice radious. Plus, I don't like the seats and it has 6's and 7's where as the first one has 7 and 8's.

Went home to get my Porsche book out. Carreras seem pretty rare number wise. Same motor and etc. and look to be same weight as S. What are the differences in general between the 74 S and the 74 Carrera (both US versions).
Also, big question I have is can the US 175 hp version not be brought up to European specs 210 hp easily or is it completely different engine.

Rear flares, 6" & 7"x15 wheels vs. 6x15 all the way around for the 911/S, larger sway bars 20mm front, 18mm rear vs. the 911/S 16mm front and no rear bar std. Carrera's had a different steering wheel. The Euro Carrera's engine was the same as the 73RS (210HP, MFI, 8.5:1 CR, type 911/83). For the US 74 Carrera, the pistons are different, the induction system is all different, I think the cams may be different (for sure the CIS engine on the US Carrera is missing the MFI drive pulley on the left cam), I think the heads may be different but that's more than I know for sure. Bruce Anderson describes a US 2.7L engine upgrade that uses 2.7RS p&c's, 911E cams, and Weber 40IDA carbs that has nearly the same performance as the original 2.7RS engine.
