Am I having fuel delivery issues?

Hi all:
Now that the weather is improving out here driving the p-car more often. New issue:

When I step on the clutch especially waiting for my turn at an intersection with a stop sign the RPMs drop almost to stall then bounce backover 1000 then settle at around 900 and this happens repeatedly until I'm through the intersection.

Oil pressure is good, not overheating, nothing else to strange going on.

Any thoughts, what else should I look at?

Adam

You do know the Clutch pedal is the one on the far left, right?

Is this when you you should be idling? If so, sounds like it may be a mixture adjustment or vacuum leak.

No I have one of those 1980 tiptronics....

It is at the time of idling but it only happens right after I push the clutch in then if I idle for any length of time it remains steady at 900 rpm....

D#$%n mixture on this car seems to constantly need adjustment would a vacuum leak cause this?

Mine goes thru the same type of thing when it is undriven for a over a week or so. I think she feels lonely and wants extra attention. Sometimes, she makes me visit Mike to get adjusted but more often some quality time on a twisty road seems to satisfy her.

Can't hurt and add some "quality time" and you may be good to go.

Throttle rod binding on the clutch cable? Can happen if the throttle bellcrank on the pedal cluster gets bent. Sounds like depressing the clutch is blipping the throttle....
