There was something on this a while back. Too bad WA isn't on the list.

I have also been looking at DE insurance. I noticed that the American Collectors Insurance DE coverage is underwritten by a company called American Bankers Insurance Company of Flordia.

I fear buying insurance from some no-name "fly by night" company. But, in this case you can feel comforted, American Bankers of FL is a subsidiary of Assurant Group and they get an "Excellent" rating from A.M. Best. This is the 2nd highest financial strength rating of A.M. Best. I don't know how they would be to deal with in the event of an accident but at least you have the satisfaction of knowing they are probably not likely to get into financial trouble and disappear.
