I thought it was a little cocaine??

Maybe it's just a way of moving a post back to the top of the page to try to get more visibility.

ed bates, i'll be the serious one. everytime you post a topic or respond the thread moves back up to the top of the pile. right? so, lets say you need a question answered and no one has responded, and it is getting way down there, or heaven forbid it is at page two! you then "bump" it back to the top. for more people to see.

i typically do not type "bump". i type, "come on, somebody help me please!"

You all have it wrong. The bump is a cheesy dance from the 70's.

And I thought their was intelligent life here.....

Because the posts were 2 weeks apart (the thread is here).

By bumping his for sale post, it will appear on page 1 of the Porsche Cars For Sale board, instead of page 3. The assumption by the seller is that his car (or parts on the parts board) is much more important than everyone elses, and it belongs on the front page.

Cool

Its actually 1/2 of the movements of old strippers. Such as in Bump & Grind.

Its 1/2 of the movement in used in passing for the lead in Nascar, such as in Bump & Run.

You'll also see "TTT" sometimes on forums. It's means "To The Top", and works the same way as "bump"
