Sorry, Christian, but that casting number won't help a bit! You need the engine serial number and type number from the right crankcase, where they will be stamped on the vertical portion near the fan housing. Your type number SHOULD BE 901/02!!!

Err Serious, that's a 3 year old thread. But what you say is intruiging.. what induction do you have on your 2.4T? I belive that casting number for an aluminum case while you should have a 3r/4R, 4R/5Rcase or a 7R case

LOL, yes it is a 3 year old thread. That’s what I get for running a search and not paying attention. Now for the question that has popped up. L33t9eek my 73T is a "potluck" car. The owner had passed away and the family members had it shipped from CA to MI where I bought it. About all the info I have on the motor is the case number and the serial number of the engine. The S/N checked out in the red book for a 911/91 engine. Where could I cross reference the case number to see what engine it should go with?

l33t9eek, I am running Webers (40) but the engine was clearly fuel injected from the factory.

911/91 is a CIS 73.5 911T. I thought those were 7R mag cases.

Where did you find this casting number?

Shuie, I have seen 73E and 73S with 7R cases. But no T. I am guessing the Ts didn't get the better case. Maybe someone can prove me wrong...
