Dyno Results!! 3.2 Race Exhaust system!!! Stock Motor
Well, I just returned from the Dyno(Dynojet)....Wow. Here's the configuration;
1. Cone air filter. 2. 1.5" ID Headers. 3. Custom Designed restrictors with Coast/Burns mufflers. 4. Steve W. Chip. 5. Otherwise stock Carrera motor with 76K from factory. No other mods!! Engine internals have not been touched! 213.6RWHP!!!!(245+/- at the crank!) 192.0 torque(ft/lbs.)(225ft/lbs. at the crank!) I'll post the graphs once they are e-mailed to me...Scary...

Wow, that's impressive. I take it the US '87 3.2 is the low compression Cat motor?

Karl, I have figured out how to record sound!! Duh!!! I will e-mail a file to you tomorrow. Let me know if you want to host.
Victor, This is a stock US low compression motor. Here is a Dyno graph comparing the stock chip vs. Steve W. chip. Steve still has some tweaking to do so it should get better...Yikes ![]() ![]()

I look forward to hearing the sound clips too.
It would be very cool if someone could overlay the dyno results with a stock motor's curves. Are the RH% values correct? They look incredibly dry; climate-control in the dyno room?

It's great to see it improved...but....do you have a before dyno without the mufflers? Could be that dyno was running hot?

The Dyno runs with the B&B were 197rwhp, I can't remember the torque values off the top of my head. The dyno is in Worcester. If you want to go Todd, let me know since I will be going again soon.
Cheers, James

James
Thanks for the info. I'll let you know but my car most likely won't come out of hibernation until April showers have washed the salt off of the street Todd

Hey Guys;
I was thinking of trying to organize a Boston area Pelican Dyno Day again some time in April or early May. I'm like James though, I won't take my 911 out until the street sweepers and April Showers have washed the salt off of the streets. I guess the guys in Worcester don't have a minimum car count requirement before they'll open up the Dyno.

John, The folks in Worcester are SUPER nice. I got 5 runs for 100.00. That included time for me to swap chips to compare. They are really willing to work with you too. He said we could do an evening session or a Saturday one and we'll get a good rate if we have a bunch of folks. it looks like it's a very new Dynojet Dyno too.
Cheers, James

Marty,
This graph is the one that comes out of the dynojet software. I have the printed graph which has the rpm reading. I will scan that in and post it here. Since this car is used for Club Racing, I see 6K RPM alot, In fact I don't drop below 4K on the track. Most motors I know make the most Hp near the rev limit anyway. Cheers, James

James, last I remembered, since everyone divides the rwhp by 0.85 to derive the fwhp in a 911, do you realize you actually are developing 251.3 fwhp and 225.9 lbs. of torque! Wild, on a stock U.S. motor I'd say. If you're gonna compare your numbers to others on a Dynojet, you might as well compare apples to apples!

Man that sounds awesome.
It is hard to say how much louder it is over stock but it sure sounds cool.
