Momo Hub Adapter
Today the weather was warm enough in the land of the Cubbies so I decided to work on the Porsche.
I brought a Momo wheel at a local flea market and order a hub adapter for my 82 911 SC with a matching Porsche Crest Horn Button. Got a 27MM socket fitted to my 1/2 drive ratchet and removed the old steering wheel. When I went to assemble the new the new Hub with the wheel I notice that the hub adapter didn't have the ring at the base to cancel the turn signal or connect the horn. I look at my old wheel and saw that it had the ring with the tab for canceling the turn signal. Question is the ring supplied with MOMO hub adapter for a Porsche 911 or must one reuse the ring from the original wheel? I try to use the old ring (the holes match the MOMO hub adapter) but when I place the wheel on the shaft there was a grinding sound. I pull the steering up about 1/8" and the grinding sound went away, but when I push the wheel all the way down and turn the wheel left and right I can hear a grinding sound. What a waste of the first really nice day in quite a while. I ended up putting back the original wheel How did people who replaced their wheel with a Momo wheel and hub get it to work on their Porsche? Thanks for any help. |

First off you have to reuse the horn cancell ring from your old wheel
I think you sould check with Momo and make sure that you have the right adapter, there is a # on it some place. good Luck with this

Yes you have to reuse the old ring to cancel your turn indicators.
I bought a Autotecnica hub to use with my Momo wheel on my SC. After installing it i found that the screw holes were in a slightly different location, and now my right turn signal doesnt cancel properly. Let me know when you fit the Momo adapter if your turn signals cancel ok, as I might have to buy a Momo one.
