Door Sill Rust Repair

I'm about to get into repairing rust in a tricky area of my 73 Targa.

The seal channel of my passenger door sill has been rustimized at and just aft/above the lower rear corner...in the area where the lock plate panel joins the top of the outer rocker.

The reason I got into this area in the first place is because the door seal wont stay in the channel.

Problem is I dont know how wide the channel should be. Or if the width at the corners is different from the width along the straights. I have plenty of straight sections to measure but no good corners to measure (both door seals at all corners have this problem).

Can someone help me out here? I've talked to Restoration Design and they dont make the part that forms the seal channel. So I've got to fabricate my own.

Thanks,
Joe

the channel is the same size all around, at the A pillar there is a small lip(L shaped) added to help hold the seal in correct position next to the lower hinge. At the b pillar, the lock post only forms 2/3 of the channel, the inner sill forms the other side. RD makes what you need, you just need a visual. I will post some pics of this repair currently in progress at the shop.
