power seat installation

Hi, In the process of purchasing power seats from a 86 911 to install in my 77 911. Any ideas in hooking up the electric to power the seats and are the seat rails compatable (power vs manual). My currant seats are manual. Thanks Jerry

Thanks for the responses. I read a previous post when I searched for installation on this subject that someone who had bought power seats said the rails were not compatable with his manual seat mounts? By looking at the pictures of the seats I am buying it looks like the rails should bolt right into the holes in the mounts. I know the demensions for the bolt pattern is correct. Ronin, what year seats are yours? Sounds like you did the same thing I am attempting? You by passed the fuse box and used a circuit breaker intsead. Any more info on your setup would be appreciated. Is there any differance in the seat rails between differant years of carreras? Bell would like to see your seat bottoms and style of your seat f possible. My email is GMR911@aol.com. Thanks Jerry

my newer power seats are '89 944 Turbo High Back.. which are identical to Carrera seats.. which are a perfect fit.

Make sure your present seat to rail bolts are re-usable.
I used 10ga marine AGW positive and negative wires.
I used silver solder to connect seat plug, connectors, etc.
I used a marine $15 Blue Sea System circuit breaker, then to battery hot.
