6 point harness in an SC
 

Hi, I did a search, but no clear answer, just more questions.
I am mounting 6 point Simpsons in my SC with a harness bar. Stock seats. I undersatnd how to attach the shoulder harness to the rear seat belt points ( do I need to use eye bolts, or will they bolt right in?) I know about the eye bolts for the lap belts.

What about the dual sub straps? Simpson says they should be mounted to the floor in front of the seat. I understood that they would also clip to the same anchor point as the lap bets.

How are poeple doing this???? Where do I get the eye bolts with the right length and thread to screw into the stock mounting points?

G-Force's eyebolts thread right into the stock rear seatbelt mounting points. I've done it on my Carrera.

The sub straps go to the same points as your lap belts. Sit on the staps and he latch comes up between your legs. Works great. Running a sub strap over the front of the stock seat isn't a good idea.

Are these sport seats? If so, you should have a harness bar with guides on it to keep the shoulder belts from "falling off" the points of your shoulders. Either that or a sternum strap so that they can't slip off. Last year, a Connecticut Valley Region instructor at a DE commented that they do not allow harness' without a sternum strap or guides, one or the other is required. I had a harness truss and it did not work well.

My sub belts mounted the same as zz recommends; lap belt mount points. The first attempt was at the front seat mounts but there was a conflict with the seat rail adjuster. Some people do it, but I don't think it is as effective. The idea is to get the cam lock or latch close to the crotch area. The lapbelts actually help some in keeping you from sliding forward.
