Engine Rebuild and When

What is the average life expectancy on a 3.0 engine? 200k, 300k???What is the cost to rebuild one? and if you just have the top end done, how long until you have to do the bottom. I know everyone is different, but just curious.

Thanks!:rolleyes::confused: :cool:

Time To Rebuild? - Part I&II

I'd recommend you grab Wayne Dempseys Engine Rebuild book, and check out the "911 Engine Rebuilding Forum" on this website. Just reading a couple pages of that and searching through it will give you a good overview of what you are looking for.

3.0 engines have been known to outlive their owners. Some owners have actually willed estates over to their 3.0s. I kid you not.

Incidentally...*knock on wood*, my 3.2 has 177k miles on it now, pulls strong and is my daily (and only) driver. I'm hoping it'll hit 300k before it needs any rebuilds...

hoping, hoping, hoping....
