It's much funnier if read with an Austrian accent (no offense).

Try it! NOW!

Not bad and I'd like an "Onion" with that!

I looked at the P&C's
JE I assume has a site.
Can we find more details on the Cylinders somewhere?

Additionally, I will be expanding the cylinder lineup to include LN Engineering's "Nickies" too. More to come.

Roughly 1.5 lbs for the pair. Anybody wish to post how much the stock light assemblies weigh?

For any unlisted applications, email me with details about your setup. I will most likely be able to get what you need. JE doesn't have part numbers for everything, but that doesn't mean we can't supply them to you.

I'm curious, why aren't there any JE piston sets for force induced engines that need lower compression in the 7-8:1 range?

JE Pistons does not stock every piston in the world, but that doesn't mean they don't supply them. Less popular applications are available by special order, so please contact me for anything not listed. Special orders take 3-4 weeks, so please schedule your build accordingly.

From the description in our catalog, "these pistons are machined from forged 2618 alloy."

Hope that clarifies things.

Are the pistons and connecting rods lighter than stock? What is the stock compression? DO you also have dual plug heads? What would be the power gain and how about longevity?

They are much lighter, we used JE pistons and Pauter rods in my dad's 944 turbo and the difference in weight for the pistons alone was like night and day, even more appearant with the rods attatched to them.

I have an '86 Carrera with 3.2. I am thinking about replacing the valve guides (600 miles a quart on oil) and think that this may be worth the extra money if I am going into the engine.

My question is why didn't the factory use the light weight parts and would the lighter parts last as long?

According to my specs, JE Pistons are roughly 200g lighter than stock (each) and Carrillo rods about 50g lighter (each).

Stock compression for an 86 3.2 is 9.5:1 USA or 10.3:1 ROW. JE Pistons are available in 9.5:1 or 10.5:1.

You can have your stock heads machined to accept dual plugs, but then you will need a dual distributor to match.

Mahle and JE Pistons are very reputable manufacturers of engine components that have both been around for over half a century. I would put JE's in my car and expect them to be just as reliable as the ones they've replaced. That's just my opinion though, so ask around to see what the consensus is.

I was thinking that a higher reving lightweight engine would be more powerful and less trouble. Maybe the twin plug head is not worth it since the Motronic does not have a knock sensor. This seems to get into more than I was intending...change the pistons and rods for more free reving power...must change the ignition to change to twin plugs. Can I go to 10.5:1 with 94-94 RON or should I stay at 10:1? Should i also replace the rod bolts for a car that will not go over 250 HP?
