RS Flare Installation Cost?

Hello! I am going to be picking up a 72-73 911T soon and was just wondering if anyone has a ballpark cost on the steel RS Flare modification, sans paint (ie, cut, weld, finish).

If anyone knows of any trustworhy mod shops in the San Mateo, Ca. area it would be greatly appreciated too.

Thanks!

Scott

Mine cost about $1000- the flares were $400 and butt-welding them on was $600. I'm in lo-Cal so no idea about San Mateo fabricators.

YMMV,
TT

I had SC/Carrera flares installed on my 1977 911S, and the cost was roughly $3000 for the parts & labor, including painting/matching. This was for the rear only.

Geez! I'll weld up two flares for 500!

Really, when I was calling around, the shops I called didn't do that kind of stuff, and if they did it would cost too much for my liking. So I bought a welder! 250+gas and wire...much more to my liking

With a second set of hands, I was able to tack on a flare in about 4 hours. After having done it, I figure I might be able to do the complete job in 8 hours +/- 2 hours.

Tim,

I tacked in the one with more meat on it, and the other one looks like it should work judging from the fitting. I'll still kick you butt boy!

Thanks kid....make sure to stop in this summer for a beer...I won't tell you parents if you don't
