Minnesota Pelicans Spring Drive
The http://www.northstarbmw.org/ has invited us on their
spring Appalachian Spring Tour through Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa. We drove some of those roads last fall and had a great time. Here are the details furnished by the BMW guys: 1. April 17, 2004 2. Starts at the Town & Country Cafe on Main St. in Kellogg, MN. Optional breakfast (off the menu) or coffee at 8:30, registration for the drive at 9:00. 3. Kellogg is 1:40 for my house in Apple Valley. If you don't want to arise early, there are plenty of lodging options in Winona, Lake City, etc. 4. You'll need a co-pilot/navigator. The directions are detailed, way too much to decipher while driving. If you get off the beaten path, you may not be seen again. 5. There will be two groups: Touring and Relaxed Touring. No need for those R-compound tires on this one. 6. Once we get into the fun part, lots and lots of twisty bits. 7. Lunch stop (order off the menu) will be in NE Iowa. This is also a place to refuel. 8. Finish at the scenic overlook in Alma Wisconsin. Finish time is probably going to be about 5:00 p.m. 9. You won't be bombarded by solicitations, but it is a fund raising event for the North Star chapter's designated charity Cancer Kids Fund. 10. It would be nice to have some idea of how many drivers we'll have just to give our cafes some heads up. If you could give me an email if you're coming that would be great. Anything else I can try to answer? Dick Neumeg Social Events Chair (w) 651-687-7624
