oil return tube Q.
ok, please do not flame me. i may have not done things right. but a friend sold me two new oil return tubes. one with the green seals and the other had tan ones. i picked up a set of greens seals just in case. i crawled under the car and figured out that the drivers side, front oil tube is the leaking bastard. so i started there. i took some measurements and i figured i could fix it with exchanges in place. yanked the old one, and destroyed the green seal one messing with it, trying to stretch it into place. it may have been tweaked a bit because it didnt slide so easy. i used the other one and pow it went in! (i changed it to the green seals). my question, when i installed the circlip into place, it was about 1/8th inch away from the bigger tube. shouldnt it butt up against it instead? i dont think the one that went in is the OEM model. i used a mirror and closely examined the other old tube and it was dry as a bone. so i am leaving it. no way i can worm a new tube in there anyways. i wish i took a pic before i installed the tube that worked, so you guys an id the brand for me. it had tan seals, and the smaller inner seals were red. collapsed it was longer than the other one, and the alum was way beefier. next time i am farming out the work. that was a PITA!
cliff.
