Fuel Pressure Gauge -- CIS Conversion

I have access to a good fuel pressure gauge and want to do some diagnostics on my CIS system. The setup I have is for standard Schraeder valves with adaptors for Ford and GM systems. It goes up to 100psi though. Is there an easy way to get this thing to work with my CIS fittings, or should I just drop the $50 for the kit from JC Whitney?

You can do what I did. I went to the local u pull it junkyard. Look for cars with cis on them. You can get all the fittings you need from those cars. Take the whole line from the fuel distributer to the WUR. Even if it has the stainless braided lines, you can cut them off and use high pressure hose with hose clamps.

What common cars are good to look for? Early 80s VW Rabbits & Audis?

CIS was used in many european cars. VW, saab, audi, mercedes and volvo are all good sources. Look for cars from the mid 70's to mid 80's. these will be your best bet. the earlier cars have plastic lines that are easier to get the fittings out of. I brought a jar to the pick and pull and filled it up with tons of fittings and adapters for the fuel lines for 5 dollars.
