Does this plug have a home?
While lookin around under the hood I found this just hangin around. I found this tucked under the fuse box.
Is this just a test plug? Or is something missing? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1078422931.jpg Please excuse the bad photoshop question mark. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1078423013.jpg Another view. The car is an 1988 911 and has been driven often in the last few days with no strange effects. |
It plugs into the back of the blower fan. ( Out of site ) Reach up there with your fingers. You'll feel the 2 pins and the guide.

I'll take a look.
seems weird that it was unplugged. And do you know what it does? |
Yeah it powers the engine heater blower motor. Also completes the circuit for the footwell blowers. Do yours work without it?
|
Actually I don't think the footwell blowers are working.
Having the engine heater blower not running would this lead to higher temps? |
Don't worry too much about it. I've pretty much been convinced that the wires don't need to be plugged in to work. A set of wires in my engine bay was identified as the rear defroster wires. I forgot this small fact one cold morning, and turned on the rear defrost. Didn't occur to me until much later that I shouldn't have bothered, but the rear window still defrosted. I don't think I quite understand electricity ...
