Porsche Crest Two warning lights for the price of one

I just had my oil warning light and my hand brake light at the same time. I checked my oil level 3 times and it is perfect. The
oil pressure is good and hasn't changed from previous driving.

Are the 2 lights related ? I do need new rear brakes but I have just recieved new pads and discs from our host so I will be doing those this weekend.

I did the fronts recently so they are good. The pad wear light is not on. It is the hand brake light.

I tried to do a search, but did not come up with anything useful.

Okay, after doing a better search I think I answered my own problem . It seems that the oil pressure sender is bad.
Does this sound right to you guys?

Also ,how hard is this to change?

Jerry,

it's the oil pressure switch, not the sensor for the pressure gauge, that fails and causes the indications you're seeing. The switch is located forward & below the injection stuff, to the right of center. It's not too hard to access/replace, but you'll need to remove the air box and possibly the air flow sensor. You may still want to lower the rear of the engine a few inches which greatly improves access to that area of the engine. Then, while you're there, it's generally a good idea to also replace the o-ring on the thermostat, found just to the right of the switch.

Mark, thanks for the info. That was the deal. It really wasn't that bad. I did have to do it mostly by feel though. I had to rig a mirror in there to actually see the top of the switch. Then once I found it I was able to put a socket on it.

Of course just to throw me a curve, the original part was a 24mm
and the new one was a 22mm. The sockets need to be deep well to clear the top of the spade connector on the switch.

Just one more job/money I saved not having to go to a wrench
