First Drive

Well I got my windshield in last night so I finally got to drive the 72. I havent got the rear glass in but who cares. Anyway it runs great and no grinding gears. Its still a pain to start but im hopeing new plugs and wires will help that.

I need a door stay on the passenger door so I havn't bothered putting the arm rest on. I also havn't decieded on the door panels. Im hopeing to find some door pockets. Also I have some soundproofing ordered for the rear seat area. I finally got the seal on the rear glass and I'll put that in next. I just had to go for a spin since I havnt been able to do much without a windshield.

It came with the car. I have caps for the two if I want to quiet things down a bit.

Looks nice! I had problems with starting too (1970 911T) until I got the carbs cleaned...oh and the engine rebuilt Are you running carbs?

What size wheels and tires are you running? There's something that I really like about your car...hmmm

Yes I have carbs on there now. I would like to put the MFI back on but I'll probably wait awhile. I want to drive it and get an idea of what it needs. Once its started its fine. Idles and runs good. There is a slight tapping sound. I plan on replacing the plugs and wires, and maybe adjust the valves. The tires are 195/60 15.

Nice car Dan. How do you keep the black looking good. 5 minutes after I wash mine it looks like a dust cloud has settled on it.

I've seen Mark's car up close. Looks really nice.
I changed my plugs today and it started right up, Mark. Still dealing with a funky timing problem though.

Hey dan, don't worry, I still havnt put the rear glass in. I got the seal on but I need to go get more rope. I'm sure you dont want to miss seeing that glass get installed. Ya gotta get that car up here. The neighbors have to talk about something. Two 911's in Portage at the same time will have them wondering whats going on.
