What the heck Bill - you got your car in your bedroom now?
Some a you guys are gettin' a little over the edge. |
Probably just my monitor, but I could swear there's a bed, a nightstand and a lamp in that photo .......
|
That Jim Newton builds a good car.
|
very nice :)
i love the bed in the first pic.....what a way to sleep :D |
I'd sleep with it. I looks hotter than a popcorn fart. Any chance of getting a peak under the hood? I love what he did to the shifter housing. Car looks very light.
|
wow
|
Double Wow! Any more pix Bill?
|
Newton claims 1700lbs? and a 2.8. Although when asked about the floors he sez steel, bet a magnet does not stick to em :>) see the rivets?.
Parade winner and very fast, Jim builds a nice ride. |
more pics bill!! thats a proper cage, any idea if its an off the shelf item? does it run through to the front strutt towers? can we see under there? please?

Hubba hubba hubba!
|
According to Restoration Designs, they ran a limited stamping of an aluminum floor stamping for that car a few others in the industry. Of course, no plans for them to make any more.
Great car! |
I want a "Dan Tanna" style pad and pull right into the house! I wouldn't even have to leave the garage for dinner. Nice RSR!
|
like the old man driving the 550 in the commercial says "holly shmolly"
|
That is amazing. Check out that shifter housing! Who made those wheels?
|
Very Nice car- Jim is a multiple PCA Manhaatan award winner from his various restorations- and a capable driver as well

I think every household should a 911 in the living room, or next to the bed.
GREAT interior decorator. |
I saw that car at the CVR/PCA swap last fall. The detail work is stunningly well thought out and executed. I think that it had been recently completed - immaculate!
|
Not sure it is a SWB car anymore, Looks like it has alloy trailing arms....
|
Yes, that's, Jims personal mount. It is absolutely stunningly turned out. He said his design goal was the absolute minimum weight. Unfortunately those are the only pics I got. :)

I saw Jim in Sebring and he has a full customer stable to support for the PCA Club race scene. My guess is that he'll stick to the East coast events for PCA CR and perhaps an occasional RRII ;) I know he mentioned he was going. Jason |
Bill,
From the "underneath" engine shot, it looks like there are no pressure fed chain tensioners. Is this true? Troy |
Nope, no suction line either. I suspect that the latter and the oil were removed in defference to the Hotel.
