BRJ, do a search on K&N filters. there is alot of debate on the effectiveness. i have one in my truck and ...well, i dont know if it does a thing. i wouldnt use on in my 911. but mine is CIS.

Well I just got it at ANDIAL since they are only 2 minutes from me and Arnold claims he has it in his 86 3.2 and claims that you should only be concerned if it was a 993 or 996 because they are sensitive to the oil in the filter - Otherwise not to worry.
So I guess Im going to have to go witht he experts advise. Use the K&N

Enjoy it. My PO installed one, and it sounds nifty. 'Nuff said.

They are definitely less restrictive, that is why they sound "nifty" but in my opinion the lower restriction means more crap in your engine. Stay with the stocker.

Let's see; cool sound or longer lasting engine. Hmmmm, tough choice.

My take: a clean paper filter flows just as well if not better than a K and N. The factory paper filter filters well though, so it probably gets clogged faster, and thence it will be more restrictive if not cleaned/changed regularly.
