Pelican Parts New parts on the way....now what?

Just dropped a bundle with our host here. I'm really looking forward to seeing what difference the Dansk sport, pre-muff, and SteveW chip make on the car.

Now i'm just worried what's going to happen when the packages start arriving at home and the wife catches sight of them. Too bad they can't be shipped in some non-descript box with no labels. So....how do i soften the blow?

Not an option. I work for one of those big stuffy companies that don't allow such luxuries.

Ok, Plan B order something for your wife so it comes at the same time.

Of course what you get for her is really for you....from Victorias Secret or another such place....

EDIT: That doesn't sound right does it.....you know what I mean. lol

It might seem staged if a flower delivery happens to coincide with a large delivery of Porsche parts. Maybe i could schedule her to go to a spa for a few days

Do what I did, get her involved with the car. Now when I want to order something she asks if it will make the car faster on the track........

I'd love to get her involved. That would be an ideal situation. Unfortunately her view of the car is that it's a money pit, potentially unsafe in a crash, and a waste of my time.

I catch hell when we're driving on the Turnpike and i go 5mph over the speed limit. *sigh*

I thought of sending this to a friends house and i'm not trying to make this more difficult than it needs to be but....

I'd have to then borrow a truck to get the parts to my house, then take the truck back, then get my car, etc. Making this big of a production might make things worse.

I'm thinking of just playing it low key and explaining that there's lots of packing material for some fragile parts

No no no, this is all PREVENTATIVE maintenance. I mean, the car is 20 years old. Would she want your muffler to simply fall off on the freeway perhaps injuring a nice young family driving their mini-van with their twins? Or perhaps a stray bolt flying like a bullet and ripping the head off an innocent furry critter?
As for the premuff, well, those CATS can get VERY expensive to replace so we really want to minimize its use to emissions checks only. Very cost effective in the long run.
The chip is mearly a backup. You know how those fancy systems are. POW! Just like that and your chip is fried.

No go get some more stuff...

If you can shed a tear when speaking of the furry critter...you are in...

...I actually used the premuff one on my wife...worked like a champ. She even helped me install the premuff. All about spin my friend....

Time at home in the garage and money spent on the car is time spent at home and money not wasted on booze and wild women!!! Spin, spin, spin.

Oh, the car is VERY safe in a crash. Do a search on this board, do a review of government safety ratings. The car was decades ahead of the competition in the 60's to 80's.

Remind her how good she makes the car look and how you want her to go places with you while you drive it. Remind her it is about her. Lie man, lie!!! :-)

You guys are absolutely right. Gotta put the proper spin on it. It just has to be phrased in such a way as to not arouse suspicion.

Hmmm....i think this might be doable. Now....what can i buy in round two
