Found this 1985 Targa in the Autotrader. Looks pretty good, owner says it leaks 10 drops of oil in 4 months. Any thoughts?? What is 3.4 MAHLE???????THanks!

Sounds like it's worth a look. The "3.4 Mahle" refers to the engines displacement being increased via factory Mahle 3.4L pistons & cylinders (not cheap). I'd ask where the rebuild was done, and verify the receipts before going any further though.

It looks like you have tons of choices - buy them all and decide which one you like better after. Run the VIN on carfax to see if anything shows up. As a targa owner they are alot of fun especially at sunrise with the top off and open roads on the way to work.

That is a very low mileage rebuild there. May be an indication of neglect. But of course, all other areas are cheap to take care of, if the engine and trans are redone by a reputable shop. Receipts!

The 13k 'invested' :rolleyes: may indicate a decent shop.

I'd rather take a car that is still together with similar mileage for a similar price, but this may be a good deal. It has enough miles on it since the work to show that it was a decent job. :D
