melting distibutor rotors on my 72 911
Hi I'm Mark, I have a 72 911 2.4 litre, last year I put in an msd digital six ignition and msd coil, switched the points to electronic (the pertronics kit) and the engine has never run better, except that I am melting my distributor rotor. The epoxy resin that covers the windings in the rotor is melting and the rotor gets very hot. I have gone threw 2 or 3 in the last year. What do you think the problem could be? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks,

I'm wondering if your dizzy might be "out of round"? Perhaps worn bushings? I'd say pull the dizzy, either inspect yourself or have a pro look it over. Also, how did you wire in the Pertronix?
