CIS Guru's?
 

A friend (who doesn't post here) has a 911 SC that just died. It's getting too much fuel, and flooding. I'm going over to his place now to take a look, but thought that somebody may have some ideas of where to look.

maybe a stuck control plunger?

Okay, we took the fuel distributor out. Plunger is stuck in the full throttle position. He has had some driveability issues the last couple of months, and now we know why.

Is there a fix for this, or is it time for a new fuel distributor?

The fuel distributor was recently installed, but it was sitting on the mechanic's shelf for a while, from a used car. I'm not sure how long it had been sitting. We'll do the carb cleaner thing and see what happens.

i knew it! first diagnoses i hit on the head, actually. i got mine unstuck with a tiny pair of needlenose pliers (cheap ones = softer steel) and one entire can of carb spray. you spray the crap outta it, and using the pliers, work the plunger, you can only get it to move a fraction of a mm. then repeat. get a towel under the FD and do it on the ground, because when it comes out, and it will, you WILL drop it. you want to make the distance really short. the clearance is really tight, so you will not be able to spray cleaner between the plunger and sleeve, that i why you need to work it.
