Timing question
I have a question on timing 1983 SC. 3.0 The book says 5 degrees TDC @ 950 RPM and 23 Degrees @ 6000RPM there is a 5 degree mark on the flywheel but how do I know where the 23 degree mark is.Am I missing somthing simple?

I believe it's the same TDC mark, but you need a timing light that can advance the strobe. Mine is a craftsman and does. About $75
Ohh and by the way, have a good pair of ear plugs. Man 6K in a garage or in the driveway is LOUD! Woohoo. The neighbors love it.

So would this be correct. time it at 5 degrees with the dial on the timing light set a 0 and then turn the dial up to 23 degrees and run it up to 6000 rpm?

How long can a 911 engine run at 6000 rpm without any load before it self destruct?
