Fuel Delivery Problem On '78 Sc

The car would start right up, run for all of 3 seconds..strong...and then die. I replaced the fuel filter thinking it might be the problem and now it's not starting at all?
Any help would be appreciated.Thanks.

Gary,

Could be quite a few things. You should try searching these symptoms.

Likely causes include the WUR, AAR, AAV, mixture, vacuum leaks and fuel pump.

A CIS fuel gauge from JC Whitney (c $60) will help.

The fuel pump electrical contacts, being under the car, get pretty ugly. An easy job would be to clean these and clean the contact where the earth wire bolts to the body - good luck.

And clean and reseat the fuel pump relay.
